Joy over at "Confessions of a Southern Socialte" shares recipies on her blog all of the time. She cooks. I don't. I'm more a baker I guess you could say. I only cook on special occasions like if someone is coming over for dinner, or if I'm taking something over to someone's home a "bringing home baby" gift, or a get-well soon dinner, etc. But anyway, I love to make anything sweet.
My sweet friend Debbie made these precious tie-dyed cupcakes over the weekend and wanted me to come see them! So here's the deal, there is no special recipe... Just do these simple steps:
Get a white cake mix of whatever brand you prefer and prepare it just as the directions on the box say.
After you've prepared the mix, divide it into several different bowls.
Take a different color of food coloring and add it to each bowl so that you have three, four or five different colors of cake batter-- whatever suits your fancy.
Fill the cupcake liner with the batter about 2/3 of the way full by layering the colors you'd like in each cupcake. These can all be different.
Bake them for as long as the box says to bake, and then use whatever type of icing you'd like!
That's my lame-o attempt at trying to quickly give you a recipe and instructions. I have a feeling that sweet Harper girl and I will be making these the next time she comes over!
Speaking of... look what cutie-patootie broke her arm over the weekend...
Bless it!
